What's Going On Here?

There are SO MANY wonderful book review blogs out there and I can't compete with them, that is for sure. So this is not a book review blog. This is just a way for me to organize what I have read so that I can be better at matching the right book to the right person. The blog title comes from the brilliant mind of the most talented woman who ever lived, Ms. Judy Garland. The full quote is, "Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of someone else." That is what I hope to do here and in ever aspect of my life.

Powerful

The Tattooist of Auschwitz was an excellent witness to the Holocaust.  Very moving.  It is also based on a true story.  It is sad to think that Lale Sokolov felt that he could not talk about his experience for so long because he feared that he would be called a traitor and a Nazi collaborator.  It seems to me that there is no way that anyone could accuse him of this.
Once again we hear the horrors of the concentration camps and the ways in which human beings were treated as things.  Horrifying.  Incredible that this is also a love story.  He never would have considered himself a hero, I bet.  But he sure was.
